What is UN SDGs?

In 2015, all United Nations Member States adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The agenda includes 17 Sustainable Developmental Goals (SDGs), calling for urgent actions by nation-states to cultivate a sustainable future. The Sustainable Developmental Goals recognize the interconnectedness among ending poverty and inequality, improvement of health, education, and economic growth, and tackling climate change. Thus, the 17 Sustainable Developmental Goals build on the collaborative works of various nation-states and United Nations and include interdisciplinary targets that aim to bring about the well-being of people and planet.

About the Competition

Theme of the year: UN SDG 12 RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION

The theme of this year's competition is the UN SDG 12 responsible consumption and production. Our planet has provided us with an abundance of natural resources. But we have not utilized them responsibly and currently consume far beyond what our planet can provide. We must learn how to use and produce in sustainable ways that will reverse the harm that we have inflicted on the planet. The information about the SDG 12 can be reached by connecting the link here.

As one of the education instruments to achieve the SDGs, we hold this first annual UN SDG Case Study Competition and invite the students from the university and senior high school to participate this special event and present us with your special successful case of private or public organizations on the topic of responsible consumption and production.
